Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryASHLEY JOSEPH BELANGER September 3, 1929 - August 4, 2006 Ashley passed away peacefully on August 4, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife Connie of 54 years, son Lee (Gerri), granddaughter Leslee Anne, son Paul (Lucy), grandsons, Aussten Jesse and granddaughter Brooklyn, son Billy and his only brother Denny and family. Ashley and Denny were predeceased by their beloved mother Agatha. Also to cherish his memory are his close family and friends. As a youth Ashley spent time in Vancouver doing carpentry work (a talent he inherited from his maternal grandfather Gibbons who was a master joiner in Lancashire, England.) Ashley's talent for woodworking was a lifelong joy. His garage workshop (also known as The Bentnail Construction Company ) was a gathering spot and a beehive of activity for all his buddies and greenhorn carpenters whom he coached and offered advice when asked, His gifted pieces of woodwork are found in many homes in Canada and other parts of the world, not to mention countless renovations and rec. rooms. In 1950 Ashley went to work for the CNR at the age of 21 as a Trainman. He retired from the CNR at the age of 59 as a Conductor. He continued working in the garage and pursuing his love of carpentry and fishing (Whitemouth and Oafur). He had a great sense of humor and his verbal expressions were something else. Ashley, you will be missed by many and we wish you a peaceful rest. God Bless. At his request there will be no funeral and interment will be in Whitemouth, MB at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway - 783-7211
