Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHANE RICHARD MORTON It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of our beloved Shane on August 9, 2006 at the Portage District General Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Gaylene (Archie), his father Richard (Sandra), and his sister Loralee. He will also be lovingly remembered by his fiancée, Rose-Anna; his children, Toni, Tyson (and their mother Colleen); son Shane (and his mother Shannon). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, including his special uncle Ken, cousins, stepsiblings Edwin, Bryan, Ray, Sheri and Heather. Shane was born on June 12, 1973 in Winnipeg, where he lived for his first three years. The family moved to Portage in 1976. Shane enjoyed many friendships at day care, in the neighborhood and at LaVerendye School. As a child he belonged to the local bowling club, baseball teams and Scouts. Shane attended Arthur Meighen High School taking the automotive course. He loved dirt bikes, motorcycles, snowmobiles, big trucks and fast cars. In later years he lived in Calgary, Winnipeg, Stonewall and back to Portage la Prairie. He and Rose-Anna liked to barbecue, watch movies and visit with their many friends. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Bill Galston officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home for visitation on Sunday evening, August 13, 2006 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made in Shane's name to the Heart Stroke Foundation, in care of Catherine Newham, 103 Wilkinson Cres., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 1A7.
