RIA OLIVER (nee RUFF) August 29, 1941 - August 10, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and sister on Thursday, August 10, 2006. Ria passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Riverview Health Centre. Left behind with many fond memories are her beloved husband of 20 years, Leroy; and her children, Mark Ruff and wife Jodi, William Ruff and Maria Ruff; and her brother Wytze Pasley. She was predeceased by both of her parents. In 1954, Ria immigrated to Canada with her mother from Zwolle, Netherlands. She completed her schooling and spent many years in Halifax before eventually settling in Winnipeg. Ria loved to travel and spent some time criss-crossing Canada and even making a trip with her husband back home to Holland. Now her spirit is free to travel to the many destinations that she dreamed of visiting and our hearts go with her. Many special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Riverview Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit for all their caring, help and support during this trying time. Viewing will be held Monday, August 14 at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave West from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral will be Tuesday, August 15 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel at 11:30 a.m. with burial at Brookside Cemetery.
