JACK THURSTON THOMAS MITCHELL Peacefully with his family by his side, Jack passed away in Penticton, BC on August 9, 2006 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his parents Frederick and Florence Mitchell and sister Margaret. Surviving him is his wife of 63 years, June Rose Mitchell and left with great memories are his sons Monty (partner Wendy), Bill, Fred; daughter Susan Taylor (Gord); grandchildren Scott, Jan, Jared, Michael, Monty, Matthew (Dora), Curtis, Beau and Kandace and great-grandson Zachary along with numerous nieces and nephews. Dad spent thirty years in the Royal Canadian Air Force attaining the rank of Flight Lieutenant. During his time in the Air Force, the family travelled to bases from Fort Nelson, BC to Goose Bay, Labrador with many stops in between, ultimately settling in Winnipeg. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked in property management with Morguard Investments (MEPC) and Winfield Developments. Enjoying many happy times at the summer cottage at Grand Beach and winters in Texas, Dad was an avid curler in his younger years and enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancercare Manitoba or to a charity of one's choice. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
