EDNA M. FARRELL (nee MACKAY) Born February 2, 1916 in Kincardine, ON, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2006 at Windermere Care Centre, Vancouver, BC, at aged 90. Edna was predeceased by her husband Irwin on June 27, 2004. Edna is survived by her loving family: son David and his wife Anne Marie and their children Ariane, Jennifer and Alexandre; and daughter Linda. Edna was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and spent many years doing volunteer work in the community. She started the Meals on Wheels program on the west side of Vancouver, and also worked at Grace Hospital as a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Edna was a member of Harrow United Church in Winnipeg, Lakeview United Church in Regina and Dunbar Heights United Church and Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church in Vancouver. Cremation has taken place. A joint memorial service for Edna and Irwin will be held at Kerrisdale Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made in Edna's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff at Windermere Care Centre for their loving care of Edna, especially during the past two years.
