ROY WHITENECT Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Roy Whitenect, the beloved husband of Martha, passed away at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 69 years. He leaves his loving wife and one daughter, Michelle, step-daughter Glenda and step-son Ronald, numerous grandchildren. He is survived his mother, Dorothy and by six sisters, Winnifred, Dorothy, Barbara, Norma, Christine and Carol, all of the Maritimes. He was predeceased by his father Roy. He was born in Moncton, NB, moving to Winnipeg in 1975. He married Martha on August 21, 1987. He retired as a steel-worker from Dominion Bridge in 1989 and loved fishing, camping and especially enjoyed growing his tomato plants. There will be a service of remembrance on Thursday, August 24 1:00 p.m. at Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Avenue with the Rev. Scott MacAuley officiating. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of GD-4 for the excellent care he received during the difficult time he spent there and to our very good friends Wes and Maxine Thomson for their friendship and dedication over the years.
