Date of Passing: Aug 23, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER PAUL ZIOLA July 14, 1922 - August 23, 2006 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter on August 23, 2006 at the age of 84 years young. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Elsie in 1982; and brother Mike. Dad has been a wonderful father to Sandra (Ray) Morley and Laura Mackelson; also remaining are three grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Elyk, Jaime Mackelson (Mike) and Chris Morley; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Jackson Morley, Connor and Grace Elyk; brother Frank (Angie) from British Columbia. Peter was born in Warsaw, Poland and returned to Canada with his parents at the age of 2 1/2 years. He retired from Molson Brewery after 36 years. He was a member of many legions. Dad's journey through life has been with humour and strength. His love of music, polkas, beer, dancing and volunteering kept him busy. As Dad got older, it was hard to keep up with him. He volunteered with the local food banks and at St. Alphonsus Church (head usher for 46 years) and helped make perogies. If you knew Dad, the stories he would tell he made you laugh at the things he did, (e.g. nailing acorns to a tree to give the squirrels a hard time). Daddy was a real ladies man and was our rock. Peter will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Special thanks to all the staff at Middlechurch Home especially on Deer Ward for the care and kindness of our father. Also thanks the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, Unit 1 5th floor, and a special bouquet to Dr. Finlayson for his compassion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier, with Brother Jorge Villegas, O.F.M., Cap. as Celebrant. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peter's memory to the Alzheimer Society of MB or the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
