CLEMENT CHARTRAND It is with heavy hearts that the family of Clement Hubert Chartrand announce his passing on Friday, August 25, 2006 as the result of a tragic farm accident. Clem will be missed by his wife of 49 years, Jeannette; his four sons and their families: Richard and Sandy (David and Michelle, Stephanie, Jarrod), Randy and Janice (Dana, Renn, Chantal), Robert and Yvonne (Adam, Madeleine), Rodney and Danita (Evan); and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Emily. Also mourning his loss are his brothers and sisters: Stella, Celia, Mabel, Robert (Pauline), Harvey (Isabelle), Johnny (Denise), Ron (Paulette), Edith (Don), Diane (Ken); sister-in-law Therese, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Leon and Eva; brothers Wilfred and Denis; sister-in-law Florence; brothers-in-law Etienne and Paul; and mother and father-in-law, Antoinette and David Coutu. Clem was born on September 12, 1933 in St. Laurent, MB. After leaving school he worked at various jobs until moving to Winnipeg in 1951. His work career included various G.M. dealerships and the University of Manitoba from where he retired. Upon their retirements, Clem and Jeannette returned to St. Laurent. In recent years Clem enjoyed working with his horses, participating in numerous trail rides, and volunteering in his church community. Throughout his life he was always committed to helping others and made many friends, too numerous to name. He had an interest in history, enjoyed hunting, dancing and having a good time; first and foremost, he valued family! Pallbearers are Richard, Randy, Robert, Rodney, Sandy and Hazel. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, St. Laurent, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation in Clem's memory. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, in care of arrangements.
