MELVINA NORA TAYLOR (nee SABISTON) April 17, 1929 - August 26, 2006 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, and Mamama, Melvina Nora Taylor (nee Sabiston), a lifelong resident of Selkirk, on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at age 77. Melvina was predeceased by her husband Edgar of 52 years, grandson Alan, and granddaughter Jade. Melvina leaves surviving her loving children Jack (Francine), Judith (Leslie), Lawson (Connie), Garth (Cindy), Susan (Kevin), Gerry (Shirley), Mark (Patti), Jeffrey, Darrell, Bradley, and her 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her brothers, sisters, and extended family. Melvina got her greatest joy from painting, writing poetry, working in her flower garden, and meeting with her many family and friends who would stop over to enjoy a cup of coffee with her. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the wonderful nursing staff and doctors at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion. A viewing and prayers are being held on Tuesday, August 29 from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Gilbart's Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, MB. A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, August 30 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church, 227 McLean Ave., Selkirk, MB. Viewing for one hour prior to service at Gilbart Funeral Home.
