JOHNNY REY PASCUAL Peacefully with his family at his side, Johnny Rey Pascual, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on August 25, 2006 at the age of 45. Born in Philippines, Johnny Rey (known as Johnny to some and Rey to others) immigrated to Winnipeg with his beloved wife, Cecilia, in 1980. The first of his family to come to Canada, Johnny Rey , will be fondly remembered by his wife of 26 years; his sons, Rheycel (Mimi) and Jonathan; his grandsons, Kyle and Davyn; his parents, Philip and Lisa; his brother, Barry (Margie); his sisters, Mona (Eric), Mabini Joy (Reis), and Nanette. His brother in-laws: Mario (Malou), Larry (Beth) and his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Johnny Rey was a proud graduate of Nursing and was a dedicated employee of Unisys, and Motor Coach Industries. He was an avid camper and enjoyed many family trips throughout North America. He will be remembered for his love of others, his sense of humour and his commitment to family. The family would like to thank Dr. Maksymiuk and Lorrie Walker and the Staff of the Cancer Care Manitoba for taking care of Johnny Rey and easing his pain. Also, the Palliative Care Program staff that facilitated his time at home. Sincere thanks to Darlene Salvason and the staff of Golden Door for their excellent care and compassion. Great appreciation to Father Morand, Edna and Ruel for all of your help and support. Deepest thanks to the family for their tireless efforts and especially Mona for her sleepless nights caring for Johnny Rey. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all the lives he touched. Lamay be held on Wednesday, August 30 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and August 31 from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Hwy with Rev.
