BEV ANDERSON-LOWER
Date of Passing: Aug 25, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEV ANDERSON-LOWER It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Bev Lower (Anderson) at age 66 years on Friday, August 25, 2006. She was the beloved mother of Arne, Cindy and Marlene, grandmother of Hanna, Magnus, Johnnie and Crystal, great-grandmother of Katelyn and McKayla. She has spread her wings and has flown to join her mother, father and sister in restful peace. Mom loved the outdoors, camping and travelling. In the early years and all by herself, she hauled her 16 foot trailer - with her mother and kids in tow - to camp sites around Manitoba, taking great pride in seeing the look on people's faces as she rolled up. She loved John Wayne movies; giving us many fond memories of Saturdays spent watching a good Western. And boy did Mom love a bargain: she was the best garage sales person anyone has ever met. She took great pride in her work as a cleaner, establishing true friendship with her clients, caring for them as if they were family. She was a great gardener, cook, baker, canner and preserve maker. If you knew our mom, you would have strawberries in your freezer, or jam in your cupboard. Mom had the biggest heart, putting it behind everything she did. She gave beyond her means and abilities, and on more than one occasion spent her last dollar on someone else. She was the consummate, compassionate caregiver and the best nurse anyone has ever met. She cared for sick friends and family, watching over her aunt, uncle, sister and mother in their final days. Mom would take charge of the situation, going above and beyond to comfort and care for someone in their time of need. Despite illnesses Mom battled most of her adult life, she was always a fighter and survivor, raising two kids as a single mom. Her most recent joy was her grandchildren; it was in this role that her light shined most brightly. If spirit was measured in size our mom was a giant. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 31 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. When the day shall come that we do part, if my last words are not I love you, you'll know that I did not have time... Bev was one of the truest friends I ever had. We met in 1957 and last talked just before Bea died. My sympathy to the family. Corinne (nee Shand) - Posted by: Corinne Von Ferber (Friend) on: Aug 28, 2006
