GEORGE HAROLD JACKSON Passed away at the Grace Hospital on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at the age of 64 years, George Harold Jackson, of Winnipeg, formerly of Glenboro, MB. George leaves to mourn his passing wife Madeline (nee Desrochers); son Garry and wife Pam of Winnipeg, grandchildren, Bria, Cassidy and Mason; brother Leonard (Leslie) of Starbuck, mother-in-law Nell Desrochers and brother-in-law Gerry (Marla) Desrochers of Hudson Bay, SK, sister-in-law Diane (Ken) Tranborg of St. Francois Xavier as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and numerous relatives and friends. George was predeceased by his son Larry in 1984, mother Eileen in 2001 and father Harold in 2005. George was born in Glenboro in 1941 where he grew up on the farm, attending Patricia School. He was an avid baseball player. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. He met his wife Madeline in 1957, and were married in 1961 in Bissett, MB. They moved to Winnipeg in 1961 where their two sons, Larry and Garry were born. He apprenticed and became a certified Lather and Plasterer. He worked at various job sites in his trade until starting a company in partnership with Clare Wiggett and John Bjornson which was called Kirkwood Lathing Plastering Ltd. During the many years of the company, George completed many specialized Stucco jobs. George took an early retirement due to health reasons. He was also a member of the Assiniboine Curling Club. He had fond memories of taking his sons to hockey practices and games as they were growing up. This interest in sports continued with his three grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 5 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glenboro Cemetery with Sandra Rex officiating.
