HENRY HEINRICHS It is with a great sense of loss that we announce the passing of Henry Heinrichs on Monday, September 4, 2006. Dad passed away peacefully at the Altona Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary (nee Wiebe), of almost 58 years; children, Kathy (Robert) Derksen, Linda (Frank) Nedecky, Elaine (Brian) Hastmann, John (Nancy) Heinrichs. Grandpa will be missed by his grandchildren, Kari (Courtney) Anderson with children, Jensen, Paige and Nial, Jennifer (Brian) Jajam, Joanna, Joel, Andrea, Christopher, Tanis, Steven, Ryan and Stephanie. Dad was the second of 13 children born to Rev. John P. and Helena Heinrichs on October 23, 1924. He is survived by two sisters and five brothers. He is predeceased by two sisters and three brothers (one in infancy). Dad was baptized upon confession of his faith in the Rosenfeld Bergthaler Church. Dad loved his family and he loved traditions such as family gatherings and reunions filled with music and laughter. Despite numerous health problems, Dad maintained his sense of humour, never complaining, always determined with his I can do it attitude. Although a man of few words, he conveyed his love to family, his appreciation for family roots, his strong work ethic and moral values. We, the family, would like to thank his numerous friends, neighbours and family for their caring and support. We would also like to thank the nursing staff at the Altona Hospital for their wonderful care of Dad and the compassion shown to family during his brief hospital stay. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 8 at the Altona Bergthaler Church, 117 - 2nd St. N.W., with viewing prior to the service. Donations in Dad's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements by Wiebe's Funeral Home in Altona.
