Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory(MARGARET) SUZANNE SPIECE November 15, 1943 - September 6, 2006 With sadness we announce the passing of our mom (Margaret) Suzanne Spiece (nee Sheldon) in Winnipeg, following a lifelong struggle with diabetes. She is survived by her mother Mrs. Bonnie Sheldon of Toronto, her son Tim Spiece, daughter Cindy Reid with her husband Scott and daughter Paige. A skater, chemist, librarian, musician and entrepreneur, our mom followed many passions over her journey. Most recently computers and contract bridge became her muse. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the health care professionals at the St. Boniface Hospital, most notably the MICU and 5E teams for their care and support. A gathering of friends and family will be held at the Radisson Winnipeg, 288 Portage Ave. on Monday, September 11 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may choose to make a donation in her memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of their choice.

I am a second cousin of Sue's. We met as children at family occasions in Galt but only twice as adults, once here in Halifax and another time in Winnipeg. We really enjoyed each other's company and intended to keep in touch, but somehow didn't. I greatly regret that and wish I had known her better. Her strength in the face of long term diabetes was so impressive, and is a model for my son who also has had diabetes since childhood. I send sincere condolences to all of the family.
