MOTILAL LALMAN May 1, 1927 - September 3, 2006 It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Motilal Lalman on September 3, 2006 at Grace General Hospital at the age of 79. He leaves to mourn his wife of 48 years, Janaree and children, Keith and Elizabeth, Johanna and Bruce, Melvin, Yvonne and Leanne, Sheldon and Mary. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Girlin (Reg), Kaish (Boyshi) and brothers, Katram (Gloria), Neranjan (Shamila) and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad brought his family from Trinidad to Canada in 1966. He spent the early part of his working career as a printer by trade until returning to school where he graduated in 1974 from Bemidji State College with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education. He taught at various high schools in Manitoba and Alberta for almost 30 years. Prior to his final retirement in 2003, Dad spent three years helping to establish vocational training programs in God's River, MB. Dad loved to listen to stories about our days and spend time with us working on our cars. He enjoyed spending time in the garden with Mom or fishing with his new friends while in Northern Manitoba. Dad was a warm and gentle man who would offer assistance to anyone without hesitation or expectation of repayment. He was a man of strength and honour whose character was above reproach. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace General Hospital for their compassionate care and respect of both Dad and his family during his stay. They would also like to thank the friends who came to visit and support Dad and the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Grace Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Society. A funeral service will be held at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg on Sunday, September 10. Viewing prior to service from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., service will begin at 2:00 p.m. We will truly miss you Dad. Thank you for all the wonderful memories you leave us with. May God care for you as you did for us. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 MCGILLIVRAY BLVD. WWW.THOMSONINTHEPARK.COM 925-1120

  • I know you see me grandpa. I know you look out for me from heaven. I know how much fun we will have together some day. You know how much I love you. I look forward to a haircut from you. Let's share a sandwich and a cookie together when you take me fishing. Love Cassie - Posted by: Cassandra (Grand daughter) on: Sep 12, 2013
