NELDA MAYER March 18, 1916 - September 5, 2006 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing, at Kildonan Personal Care Center, of Nelda Mayer on September 5, 2006, at the age of 90 years. Mom leaves to mourn her son Jim (Diane); granddaughter Laura McArthur (Kevin); and great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Cooper. Her grandson Colin (Tammy); and great-grand-children, Dakota and Ryan, all of Winnipeg. Mom is also survived by sisters-in-law, Vera Winter, Rose, and June Mayer; brother-in-law Glenn Gebhard; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Peter; her parents, George and Janet Winter; sister Mary and brother-in-law George Slaney; sister Merle; brother Jim and sister-in- law Ruth; brother Percy (Vera); brothers-in-law, Albert Mayer (Rose), Lorne Mayer (June); brother and sister-in-law, George and Betty Hansen; and sister-in-law Elnora (Glenn) Gebhard. Mom or Gram as she was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very proud of them and always wanted to talk about their activities and accomplishments. She was an ardent sports fan who closely followed the fortunes of her beloved Roughriders and surfed the channels all season long looking for hockey games to watch. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas and the staff of Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their care and support.
