Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEE SOPHIA LEAH EASTON It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Shirlee Easton at the age of 64, on Saturday, September 2, 2006. Mom died peacefully at the St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB after suffering a heart attack. Mom's memory will be forever cherished by her daughter Leslie Winters and husband Michael; son Jeffrey Easton; sisters, Mindy Marcoe and Natalie Fruman; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Terry Lirenman. Mom was born to parents, Jack and Jenny Fruman in a Jewish farming colony in Qupar, SK on September 3, 1941. She was a vivacious youngster, active and loved having fun with her family and friends. As a child she was very athletic and grew up to become a competitive synchronized swimmer. After training in the practical nursing field, she moved to Winnipeg where she met Leonard Easton who she married and subsequently separated from, but not before having two children. Mom was a kind compassionate, sensitive person who loved to share laughter. Growing up, Mom cared for us with all that she had despite chronic heath problems and the challenges of a single working mother. Mom spent most of her working life taking care of others as a nurse, cardiology technologist and ending her career as a companion for the elderly. We have fond memories of Mom at Clear Lake, at home hanging out with her and our friends, her Jewish cooking and learning our family holiday traditions. Mom will be missed, but the many great memories will keep us smiling and laughing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
