At the age of 15, with her twin sister Violet, she left home for Winnipeg where she worked as a seamstress, met and married her husband Clifford Irvine, and raised her two children, Ronald and Claudette. Myrtle was known to all as a tireless, devoted, caring, and fun loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend.
