Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPEARL RUTH HOWELL It is with great sadness that the family of Pearl Ruth Howell, 81 years, announce her passing on September 8, 2006. Pearl passed away peacefully with her family at her side after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Pearl was born and raised in Radville, SK. She left Radville to proudly serve her country as a medical secretary in the Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and was stationed at Christie St. Hospital in Toronto when she first met her future husband Jack. They later met again at Grand Beach, MB and were married in 1946. They settled in Winnipeg where Pearl worked as an executive secretary until their retirement in 1981 when they relocated to British Columbia. Pearl loved camping, fishing, travelling, needle work and crochet. Many of their best years were spent camping at The Big White Shell Lake in Manitoba. Pearl leaves to mourn her husband of 60 years, Jack; sons, Bill (Jane) and Steve (Monica); daughter Shelley; sister Thelma of Seattle, WA; brother Archie (Peggy) of Nova Scotia; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere gratitute to the wonderful people of Buchanan Lodge Salvation Army care facility where Pearl spent her last eight years and where Jack continues to receive exceptional care and friendship. A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Pearl's memory to the Salvation Army.
