MARY HEINRICHS As a family, we express our great sense of loss at the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Heinrichs. Mom passed away peacefully at the Altona Hospital on Monday, September 11, 2006. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Henry, on September 4, 2006, one week prior to her passing. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, daughter Kathy (Robert) Derksen and children, Kari (Courtney) Anderson with children, Jensen, Paige and Nial, Jennifer (Brian) Jajam and Joanna, daughter Linda (Frank) Nedecky and children, Joel and Andrea, daughter Elaine (Brian) Hastmann and children, Christopher and Tanis, son John (Nancy) Heinrichs and children, Steven, Ryan and Stephanie. Mom was the second of nine children born to Cornelius and Elizabeth Wiebe (nee Dyck) on May 30, 1929. She is survived by two sisters and two brothers. She was predeceased by two sisters (one in childhood) and two brothers (one in infancy). Mom was baptized upon confession of her faith in the Rosenfeld Bergthaler Church in the spring of 1948 and married Henry Heinrichs on October 24, 1948. They began their married life in Winnipeg where all four children were born and later moved to the Altona area. Mom was a very special lady. She loved people and especially her family, showing her care and concern for them all, even when her own health began to fail. Mom enjoyed keeping busy and always had projects on the go - making blankets for all of us, knitting, gardening, preserving fruits and vegetables, making home-made soups. Mom loved to help others. She enjoyed her participation in the Senior Choir, her volunteer work at MCC and her Bible Study Group. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all of our numerous friends, neighbours and family for their caring and support during this difficult time. Our appreciation is extended to the doctors and nursing staff at the Altona Hospital and to Elaine Friesen, Palliative Care, for being there for Mom and for us. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 14 at 11:00 in the Altona Bergthaler Church, 117 - 2nd Street NW with viewing at the church prior to the service. Viewing at the funeral home will be from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13. We welcome all family to join us for a time of sharing on Wednesday evening, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Wiebe's Funeral Home in Altona. Donations in mom's memory may be made to MCC, Canada.
