ALEJANDRO GUICO HERNANDO It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle and grandfather, Alejandro on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the age of 62 years. Alejandro is lovingly survived by his wife Virginia; three daughters, Rhodora (Leon), Maria (David), Maribel (Ben) and son Fernando; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and relatives in Canada and abroad. He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and in-laws. Born in Alicia, Isabela, Philippines in 1944, Alejandro studied his trade as a mechanical engineer at the National University and Araneta University in the Philippines. He immigrated to Canada with his wife and four children in the late 1970's. Upon arrival in Canada, he practiced his trade at Varta Batteries and Canadian Innovatech where he established many lasting friendships. In his spare time, Alejandro enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Brandon, Fiona, and Emily, and watching sports. Public Visitation for Alejandro will be held on Friday, September 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (Corner of Mount Royal Rd. and Ness Ave.). For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donation's may be made in Alejandro's memory to Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, 1031 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R8, or to a charity of one's choice.
