RINA CAVALIERI With great sorrow we announce that Rina Cavalieri died unexpectedly on September 8, 2006 at the age of 72 years. She leaves to mourn her husband of 49 years Camillo, daughter Franca (Andy); son Silvano (Melodye); and granddaughters Michelle and Aimee. She was predeceased by her mother Antonia in 1965 and her father Agostino in 1983. She is survived by her sisters Irma Gosgnach (Gildo) and Maria Sittaro and brother Giuseppe Franz (Graziella). Her brothers and sisters-in-law Enrico (Maria) and Nando (Enricetta) in Bergamo, Italy will also mourn her loss. Rina was born in Udine, Italy on November 30, 1933. She worked in Switzerland where she met Camillo in 1956. They married in 1957 and moved to Canada in 1959. She was a very giving, devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Rina was a truly unique woman who will be missed by all whose lives she touched. She was extremely energetic and active before her illness. She was known for her warm hospitality and for making sure that everyone had enough to eat. She was a fantastic cook and seamstress. She was happiest when she was busy sewing, shopping, gardening or spending time with her family and her dog Cibo. She worked at the Health Sciences Centre until she retired in 1995. We want to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Steven Mink for treating Rina with kindness and respect for nearly nine years. We greatly appreciate the time he took to listen to our concerns. His patience and commitment will always be remembered. We also thank Dr. David Robinson and Dr. Christina Winogrodzka for their care and concern. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Rina's sister Irma Gosgnach for her dedication and help over the years. We thank her dear friend Emilia Reis and everyone who took the time to show their support for Rina and her family during her illness. A private funeral mass was held on September 12, 2006 at Holy Rosary Church with Father Sam Argenziano officiating. Pallbearers were Giuseppe Franz, Andy Jones, Adriano DiBiase, Tony Tesoro, Bill Bodner and Paul Westberg.
