JEAN BAPTISTE LAVOIE 1925 - 2006 Peacefully, after a long illness on September 6, 2006 in Ottawa. Jean will be greatly missed by Eveline, his beloved and devoted wife of 52 years. Loving father of Nicole (Martin Parker), Michelle (Trevor Woodside), Marcel (Nadia Porcari). Devoted pepère to Michael, Nicholas, Avery, Scott, Sawyer, Juliana and Jacob. Brother of Rose, Thérèse, and Arthur (predeceased), brother-in-law of Maxime Desaulniers all of Winnipeg. For over 30 years Jean served Correctional Service of Canada as an old screw of some notoriety . During his retirement, his greatest joy was baby-sitting his grandchildren. Jean will be remembered for his pride, his generosity, his endless patience and devotion to his family. He had a devious twinkle in his eye and an infectious smile that would light up the room. Many thanks to the staff of the Perley for taking such wonderful care of him while he resided there. A heartfelt thank you to all. A private family service will be held at the Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Chapel. At Jean's request there will no visitation. Donations in Jean's memory can be made to either the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of Canada.
