KAREN LOIS HAND It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the passing of Karen Lois Hand (nee Kowalson) on September 12, 2006 at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 63 years. Retired from 32 years of service with the Hudson's Bay Company, Karen enjoyed being with her family and beloved grandchildren, travelling with family and friends and trying to win the big one. Karen was known for her willingness to help others and her ability to kibitz with the best of them. Karen will be mourned by many friends. Karen was predeceased recently by her sister and best friend Denise London; her husband Winston; her partner Michael Hales and her mother Violet. Karen is survived by her brothers Randy (Carole) and their daughter Barbara; Archie and his children Warren, Michael, Scott; brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Leslie Caithness, their daughters Tara and Lindsey and their children; brother-in-law Harold; her son Robert (Marnie) and their sons Riley and Cody; son David (Amy) and their sons Tucker and Cooper and David's children Caitlin and Zachary. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
