EDWARD JOHN DOERKSEN April 22, 1948 - September 15, 2006 Edward John Doerksen of Riverton, Manitoba passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, September 15, 2006. Besides his parents, Frank and Mary Doerksen, those that look forward to a reunion in Heaven include brothers Dave, Albert (Norma), Leonard (Elizabeth); sisters Marianne (Patrick), Betty and sister-in-law Linda (Jake); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother Alfred in 1980. In spite of being confined to a wheelchair, Ed served his Lord by supporting and praying for many ministries. His friendly smile brought encouragement to many people in the neighbourhood, on the street in town, to his handivan group of friends and all he came in contact with. Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at Riverton Gospel Chapel. Interment will take place at Geysir Cemetery on Wednesday, September 20 at 2:00 p.m. Celebration of Ed's life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Riverton Gospel Chapel.
