Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryB.T. (TERRY) O'REILLY It is with great sadness we announce the passing of B.T. O'Reilly (Terry) at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on the morning of September 13, 2006. He passed away peacefully with family at his side. He leaves to mourn his wife Colette, children Rod O'Reilly and Shannon Martens (Jeff) and grandchild Riley Martens as well as two aunts Lois (Peter) Whalley and June Apehkrum, sister-in-law Jeanette O'Reilly and many cousins and in-laws. Terry was predeceased by his parents B.J. (Barney) and Marcella O'Reilly, his brother Tim O'Reilly, his sister Maureen Burr and nephew Sean Burr. Terry was born in Flin Flon on October 20, 1944. He served with the Winnipeg City Police from 1964 to 1970. He then moved to Alberta and worked in the oil patch traveling to the high arctic, Beaufort Sea and off the coast of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. He serviced rigs and diamond drilling operations throughout Canada. He worked for Baroid of Canada, En Air Drilling, Cubex, Thiessen Team and finally owned and operated Talik Industrial Services in Manitoba. Terry loved spending time with his family, fishing, duck and goose hunting, dog training and had many great friends to share his hobbies. His love of dog training was rewarded and his Labrador Petey was the 1st Grand Master qualified dog in Manitoba. Terry certainly embraced all life had to offer. After the diagnosis of his illness someone told him that he should travel and do all he liked to do. His reply, I have always done what I like to do, I have traveled and now I just want to spend time with my family. I have enjoyed life. A huge thank-you goes out to the nurses and doctors at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach as well as all the friends and family that offered encouragement, prayers and support. The care Terry received was truly amazing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bethesda Hospital Foundation or the Salvation Army. A funeral service will be held at Christ Our Savior Church in Steinbach on Tuesday, September 19 at 10:00 a.m. Birchwood Funeral Chapel, in Steinbach is in charge of the arrangements.
