ETERNA LUI Peacefully, after a brief but courageous battle with her illness, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Eterna Lui on Friday, September 15, 2006, at St. Boniface Hospital. Eterna was 50 years old at the time of her passing. Eterna Lui is survived by her father and mother, Sun and Chu (Choy); brother and sister-in-law, Tat and Terry (Ching); nephew and niece, Andrew and Cynthia; and many relatives and friends in Manitoba, Alberta, Hong Kong, and the U. S. A. Eterna was born in Hong Kong on November, 25, 1955. She emigrated with her family to Cardiff, Wales, U. K. in 1966. Since 1971, the Lui family made Winnipeg, Manitoba their home. Eterna graduated from D. M. C. I. and completed a degree in Microbiology at the U. of Manitoba. After a brief period of volunteering, Eterna began her distinguished career as a laboratory technician at the Cadham Provincial Laboratory. Eterna received her 25 years of service award a few years ago. Eterna was awarded with perfect attendance at work in 2005. Eterna loved the great outdoors and often traveled with her mother. Eterna enjoyed taking pictures. She loved orchids and water lilies. She always took beautiful pictures at the annual orchids show at the Assiniboine Park. Eterna studied the Christian scripture over a period of time. Eterna was baptized on September 1, 2006. A note of special thanks to the staff, doctors and nurses at the H. S. C. and the St. Boniface Hospital for their generous assistance during Eterna's illness; and to the Neil Bardal Inc., the Rev. Albert Cheung and all our relatives and friends for their advice and comforting words. Funeral service for Eterna will be held on Friday, September 22, 2006 at 2.00 p.m., at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, Aubrey Street entrance.
