DELICE MILLITAIRE (nee VIEVILLE) It is with great sadness that the family of Delice (Dell) Millitaire announce her sudden passing on September 16, 2006, at Middlechurch Home at the age of 82. Dell was predeceased by her daughter Marlene; parents Marius and Rachel (Curtaz)Vieville; sister Alice Trudeau; brothers Jerry, Fred and wife Leontine; and son-in-law Billy Parashin. She is survived by her children Maurice (Elaine), Brenda, Blaine (Rose-Marie), Denise (Harold), Doreen and Paul; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Lorraine, Audrey (Dan), Angie; brother Fernand (Marie-Reine) and numerous nieces and nephews. Born Delice Vieville on January 23, 1924 in Thibaultville (Richer) MB. She moved to Winnipeg as a young lady and worked at the Tache Nursing Home. She told many stories about working with the nuns. Later she worked at the Royal Alexandra and the Norwood Hotels as a chambermaid. Dell worked hard and always provided for her children. She was very proud of being able to buy her own house on Redwood Ave. and later moving out to West Kildonan. In later life she decided to learn to drive and she passed her driving test at 62 years of age. Dell loved dogs and became a breeder of Pomeranians, raising and showing them. She enjoyed her dog shows and the people she met there. She spoke often about her best friend Ada Bloomfield and missed her greatly after she passed away. In the last few years Dell suffered from Alzheimer's, making it necessary to move to Middlechurch Home. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 21 at 10:30 a.m. with viewing starting at 10:00 a.m. at Ste. Anne des Chenes Roman Catholic Church, 162 Centrale Ave. Interment to follow in Richer Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Millitaire, Mark Millitaire, Ron Kerlin, Leo Sanderson, Kerry McCormack and Tom Saunders.
