IRMA WERNER (nee OTTO) On Monday, September 18, 2006 at the Beausejour and District Health Centre, Irma Eleanor (nee Otto) Werner, aged 67 years, earned her angels wings after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She leaves to honour and cherish her memory, her husband Eric of 45 years; her son Dennis and her daughter Janet (Larry) Stadnyk; four grandchildren, Korie and Courtney Werner and Casey and Lucas Stadnyk; her sisters, Grace Hordyski, Lynette (Lenard) Kowalke, Merilyn (Michael) Molinski and Cheryl (Frank) Behrendt; her in-laws, Lorraine (Edward) Turton and Olaf (Rebecca) Werner, also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many cousins. She was predeceased by an infant son Douglas, her parents Paul and Olga Otto, her brother-in-law Ralph Hordyski, her mother in-law and father in-law, Alex and Emelie Werner. Irma was born on March 12, 1939 in Pine Falls, MB. Irma grew up on her parent's farm in Glenmoor, MB the eldest of five daughters. She worked in Winnipeg for four years until she married her best friend Eric on October 21, 1961. They farmed in Thalberg retiring to Beausejour in 2000. She taught Sunday School for eight years and was Treasurer and an active member of the Ladies Aid for many years. Eric and Irma enjoyed going for drives, checking out the crops and were fortunate to be able to go to Cuba, Mexico, Arizona, Florida and the Maritimes. Irma's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren who she so dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with. Irma's strength and her incredible faith in God saw her through her illness. She was truly an inspiration to all who knew her. She will never be forgotten. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith Funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thalberg, MB with viewing prior to the service. Pastor Mark Koenker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing held on Saturday, September 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035 Park Ave. East, Beausejour.
