ALICE JEAN SMITH (SHEPPARD)

ALICE JEAN SMITH (nee SHEPPARD) Passed away peacefully on September 18, 2006 at the Concordia Hospital. Alice was born September 22, 1918 in Winnipeg. She is survived by her daughter Shirley (Darcy) Johnson, son Gary (Lauren), grandchildren Sheryl and Erik Johnson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Bill (Jean) McIntosh, Robert (Roz) McIntosh, Betty (Marven) Konzelman and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents Henry John (1968) and Lizzie (Rennie) (1974), her only brother David George (1942) and her husband of 50 years John Jack (1997). Alice was a devoted mother and was extremely proud of her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Norwood United Church UCW. Mom was a wonderful hairdresser, seamstress and singer. She was also very artistic. Mom loved her garden and had continued canning until two years ago. Mom always looked at the positive side of things and never complained. We shall miss her greatly. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Road United Church.
