Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILBERT HONKEY August 6, 1927 - September 18, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Hilbert Honkey on September 18, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Hilbert leaves behind his beloved wife Isabelle of 56 years of marriage; daughter Carol Novak and children, Pam, Ian (Vikki), Carissa (Mark), Amber and Buddy; daughter Donna Blanco (Kevin) and children, Candace (Kelly) and his great-grandson, Austyn, Brian and Nichole (Ryan). He was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Katie Honke; brother Bob Honke and his son David Honkey. Dad was born in Leader, Saskatchewan and raised in River Hills, Manitoba. He worked at Dominion Bridge until his retirement. After retirement he chose to still carry on his caretaking duties for Sussex Realty which he loved to do. Dad was not only a caretaker, but he was a friend to so many in the block. He had one special friend, Johnny, he could always count on for a helping hand or just a friendly chat. Dad was always running and looking after his kids or grandchildren so much that Mom used to joke with him and call him MR. DUFFY'S. Hilbert was also a member of West Kildonan Legion, Branch No. 30 for 45 years. He celebrated over the years many special events there including his granddaughter's wedding and his daughter's 25th anniversary. Dad's happiest times were spent together with his wife, children and grandchildren and his only great-grandson Austyn. In keeping with Dad's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Dad, we wish we could see you one more time Come walking through the door But we know that is impossible We will hear your voice no more We know you can feel our tears And you don't want us to cry Yet our hearts are broken Because we can't understand why Someone so precious had to die We pray that God will give us strength and somehow get us through As we struggle with this heartache That was caused by losing you. The family expresses sincere appreciation to all the doctors and nurses of Seven Oaks Hospital for all their care and support Hilbert's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
