ERNESTO J. ESPEDIDO It is with saddened hearts, wonderful memories and warmest thoughts that the family announces the passing of Ernesto J. Espedido, on Friday, September 22, 2006 surrounded by family at the St. Boniface Hospital. Ernesto passed away peacefully at the age of 68. He is survived by Belen, his loving wife of 43 years; their children, Evelyn (Guill), Raul (Jona) and grandchildren, Francis, Vincent, Noel and Nicole. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Lori); cousins, Carmelino (Lalaine), Merlita (Roberto); nieces, Jennifer (Edgardo and their children), Queenie, Kaye, Hannah, Maria (Eric) and nephews, Phil (Candace and their children), Jason and Merlin. Ernesto will also be missed by his aunts, uncle, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and members of his wife's family in the Philippines. Ernesto always had a strong work ethic and took pride in providing for his loved ones. He began his career in the Philippines working for BF Goodrich in 1962 and left as Production Supervisor in 1990. Later that year Ernesto arrived in Winnipeg and began working at Sturgeon Tire (1990-1998). Before his retirement in 2001, Ernesto valued the time he spent at Palliser. For those who wish to pay their respects, viewing will be held at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg on Wednesday, September 27 and Thursday, September 28 from 6:00 p.m. until midnight each night. A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc St., Winnipeg. Ernesto will be laid to rest at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Bong Balbin, Norman Camungol, Lino Espedido, Bobet Fernando, Bobby Medina, Boyet Soldevilla. The family extends our sincerest gratitude to the compassionate staff at the St. Boniface Hospital: Dialysis Unit, 5th Floor Nursing Station, and MICU/ICU. A special thank you to Rolando Rubiales and family for all of their support. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have met Ernesto will always remember his generosity and the sound of his jovial heartfelt laughter. Too well loved to be forgotten.
