PATRICK BRUCE With sadness we announce the passing of Patrick Bruce (Mikey) on September 24, 2006. He was born in Poplar Park on June 4, 1904 to a pioneering family, he spent his life building, selling and remodeling houses in Manitoba and British Columbia. He was predeceased by his wife May on December 30, 1995 after 68 years of marriage. Pat is survived by his sister-in-law Ivy; and his three children, Lorne (Gertie-deceased), Joan (Ed) and Jim (Holly); nine grandchildren, Arlene, Neil, Catherine (Terry), David (Jill), Laura (Rick), Colin (Sharon), Heather (Ray), Brian and Caitlin; nine great-grandchildren, Meredith, Jessica, Jenny, Allison, Jordan, John, Evie, Carter and Meredith; three great-great-grandchildren, Ross, Ryan and Charlie; as well as numerous relatives and friends in Manitoba and British Columbia. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 29 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 1:30 p.m. in the St. James Anglican Church in Libau with Rev. Judy Whitmore officiating. Interment to follow in the churchyard cemetery. A reception will follow at the Poplar Park Hall. A sincere thank you to the management and staff at Tudor House care home for their loving care of Pat.
