LOUIS ENGEL April 23, 1935 September 30, 2006 With his wife and children by his side, Louis Engel passed away on Saturday afternoon, September 30, 2006 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Louis was predeceased by his father Albert, mother Lucie, and brother Emile. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 48 years, Alice; children, Susan (Ed), Jayson, Cheryl, Richmond, Floyd (Colleen), and David (Carla); and numerous grandchildren. Louis was a Real Estate Broker and owner of J.L. Engel Realty in St. Boniface for many years. Lou's greatest passions in life were his wife Alice and his children. Being with his family was all he needed for his happiness; it was family life at home or at the cottage at Bird River where he found peace and joy. Lou was also a very spiritual man, and he prayed for all who were in need. Lou was grateful to all those who loved him and he appreciated the wonderful care he received from the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Dialysis Unit. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m. also in the Coutu Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Lou may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8.
