Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNATHAN L. GREEN Nathan Louis Green, Ph.D., 58, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2006 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Graveside service will be held at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, Armstrong Avenue and Main Street, Winnipeg, at 12:00 noon, Friday, October 6. A professor of Geology at the University of Alabama for the past 25 years, Dr. Green leaves behind a loving wife Brenda; two sons, Ben and Daniel (Sharon); a daughter Elizabeth (Bob); two grandsons, Coleman and Joshua; and granddaughter Chandler. Also surviving are Dr. Green's mother, Josephine Green and brother Richard, who both reside in Winnipeg. He was predeceased by his father Dr. Louis N. Green. Born in Winnipeg. Dr. Green received his Bachelor of Science with honours and Master of Science from the University of Manitoba. Dr. Green continued his education with a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia, and began his teaching career at Oklahoma State University. Professor Green's research interest was the study of the volcanic activity within High Cascades volcanoes of Oregon, Washington and southwestern British Columbia. Research results were presented at meetings nationwide, and published in various academic journals. This research was supported by the National Science Foundation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be sent to the Department of Geological Sciences, 202 Bevill Building, The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0338, or a charity of your choice.
