NONA IRENE DAVIDSON 1923 - 2006 There is a shining new star in the sky, as Nona Irene Davidson (nee Nohlgren) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Victoria General Hospital on Wednesday, October 4, 2006. Nona was predeceased by her husband Hubert in 1990; her parents, Fred Nohlgren (1975) and Ruby Nohlgren (nee McCoy) (1926). She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Larry (Judy) and Jim (Brenda); as well as her grandchildren, Lee (Brian), Jeff (Sara) and Jennifer of Seattle, WA; and great-grandson Brayden Hubert Davidson. She also leaves two special friends, Ellen Kennedy of Swan River and Maryann Boone of Winnipeg. Nona was born on July 7, 1923 in Bagot, Manitoba and was raised in Winnipeg by her maternal grandmother. She attended Gordon Bell High School and was employed with the Manitoba Wheat Board. It was in Winnipeg that she met Hubert and they were married on March 27, 1945. They moved to Katrime, Manitoba and then Swan River, MB where they owned and operated a transfer company and raised their family. They subsequently moved back to Winnipeg in 1971, and have resided here since that time. Mom was proud of her Swedish and Irish heritage which contributed to her feisty and determined spirit. Mom was devoted to the lives and well being of her husband, children and grandchildren and was involved and interested in all their activities. Her other interests included bowling, playing cribbage with friends and grandchildren and followed Major League Baseball with a passion. She will be fondly remembered by all her family and friends at the Silver View Estates in Fort Garry where she resided the past fourteen years. Special thank you to her personal physician Dr. Karen Boyd and to Ian Thorlakson of the Victoria General Hospital for their caring and compassion. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. THOMSON IN THE PARK FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY 1291 MCGILLIVRAY BLVD WWW.THOMSONINTHEPARK.COM 925-1120 PLEASE BRING A TIN FOR THE BIN HELP US SUPPORT WINNIPEG HARVEST
