Anne was born on the farm at Weiden, MB near Rorkton. She left home at 13, spending her first years babysitting and housekeeping in Northern Manitoba and then she started cooking. Moving to Winnipeg at the age of 23, she continued in the food industry until marrying Fred in 1941. Anne and Fred moved to Brandon after the wedding, where their son was born. At the end of WWII the family moved back to Winnipeg. After several more moves, they settled in Windsor Park in 1962. After Fred passed away in 1987, Anne remained in her home until she moved to Elizabeth Road in 1991. Anne's passion for the last 40 years was playing bingo at which she was very lucky, until declining health in the last two years forced her to stop. Anne was an avid cook, gardener and knitter, and she spent many years bowling at Windsor Park Lanes. All her life Anne was fiercely independent; she drove her car until she was 89. She was a kind, caring, generous woman always willing to help someone in need. Anne was also a loving and devoted grandmother. Following cremation, Anne's remains will rest at Elmwood Cemetery.
