Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET JANE CRITCHLEY 1906 - 2006 On Friday, October 13, 2006, Violet passed away peacefully at the age of 100 years. She was born in St James, Manitoba to Robert and Hannah Drummond. She married Samuel Richard Critchley in 1925 and lived her entire life in Winnipeg. She will be sadly missed by her children, Bill (Elaine), Freda Bemister (Buss), Richard (Maggie), Brian (Eleanor), grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, 2 children, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Violet was a member of St James Legion and Ladies Auxiliary as well as the IWVA. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans for every member of her family. When her children were young, many happy hours were spent teaching crafts around the kitchen table with children in the area. Another passion was cribbage and she laid claim to that perfect hand. She played cribbage to within a month of her passing. Thanks goes out to the staff of Oakview Place for the care she was given. A special thanks from Nan to her old faithful, granddaughter Lynne Wade who enriched her life beyond words. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St. with Rev Kolleen Karlowsky-Clarke officiating. Interment will be at Brookside Cemetery.
