MABEL RUTH DESJARDINS (nee Milner) (Welicko) Peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2006 Mabel passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. Mabel was predeceased by her parents and infant son. Mabel will lovingly be remembered by her three children, daughter Darlene (Bob), sons Gary (Deanna) and Greg (Vickie), grandchildren Christopher, Sean (Shellbea), Ryan, Leonard, Sherry, Jennifer, Haley and Macey. Mabel also leaves to cherish her memory her three sisters, Jo Ann (Don), Jackie (Al), and Diane (Larry) and brother Eddy (Faye), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mabel grew up in Elmwood and raised her family in North Kildonan. Time spent with her family is what she cherished the most. Mom had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nurses on the 4th floor, unit 1 for the compassionate care and kindness they gave in the past week. We would also like to thank Diane for never leaving Mom's side during the past week and Eddy for looking out for her over the past couple years. Also thank you to Jo Ann for all your help and support. She will be in our hearts forever. At Mom's request, cremation has taken place; a memorial service will be held Friday, October 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
