Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICOLE LAFRANCE (nee BONNEAU) December 1949 - October 2006 Peacefully on Friday, October 20, 2006, at the Riverview Health Centre, Nicole lost her courageous battle with cancer. Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband Roger; daughters, Danielle (Caio), Janet (Chris); mother Rose Marie; brother Pierre (Diana), as well as sisters and brothers-in-law. She also leaves behind all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many cherished friends. She was predeceased by her father Celestin in 1980 and her mémère Rosina in 1975. Nicole was born and raised in St. Norbert. She and Roger married in 1976 and resided in St. Vital where they raised their family. In 1995 she attended Red River College to obtain a certificate in Health Care. She was employed by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority where she enjoyed her time caring for others. Nicole loved listening to music, family gatherings, being with friends and spending many happy times at their lakeside cabin. She had a kind heart, a gentle spirit and a beautiful smile for everyone. The family wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Riverview, 3rd floor East Wing, for their exceptional and compassionate care of her during this difficult time. Special thanks to relatives and friends whose visits, prayers, love and caregiving helped to make Nicole's last journey a peaceful one. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if so desired donations may be made in memory of Nicole to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Riverview Health Centre Foundation, 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 2P4. I met Nicole,Roger and Family at the Lake. Before they actually had a cottage. Roger and his glasses. Nicki and I instantly bonded. We were the same age and we had the same pots and pans. (mine were better). The love and the laughter we had those many dinners and Thanksgivings will always be in my heart.. Nick and I met a few times after in the city with dreams of returning back to the lake for another feast. I will miss you Nick and all my love to you Roger and Kids.
