ANNA OSTROZYNSKIJ Anna Ostrozynskij, widow of Wasyl, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre. Anna was born in selo Holhoche, oblast Ternopil to Pavlo and Ksenia (Rebedak) Fedchyshyn, who have predeceased her along with her brother Stefan. In June 1936, Anna married Wasyl, but the Second World War ruined their plans for a happy marriage when Wasyl was placed in a prisoner of war camp in Remini. They were later reunited in 1970 in Winnipeg. Canada became a second homeland for Anna and she immediately became a member at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral and its UCWLC. After the death of her husband in 1983, Anna eventually moved to the Selo-Villa Retirement Complex where she found many new friends and became part of that family . Energetic Anna was slowed down by a car accident in 2001, but after many months in the hospital, she returned home with a walker and continued her daily trips down Selkirk Avenue. Anna never complained and accepted life as it came. She will be remembered as Little Anna who was always in motion. Along with distant relatives in Ukraine, Anna leaves behind many friends at Selo-Villa and Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. Thank you to all the caregivers that tended to Anna at home and in the hospital, especially Dr. T. Babick. Thank you to everyone who visited her at home and in hospital during this difficult time of illness. Prayers will be sung 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 3 (tonight) at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 4, also at the Cathedral with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Mitrat M. Buyachok officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Zacharuk, Tom Dudych, Dr. Orest Cap and Russ Kravtchouk. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
