Date of Passing: Oct 24, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKAREN MOGLOVE (nee SEGAL) Karen Moglove (nee Segal) passed away on October 24, 2006 after a long struggle and hard fought battle with ovarian cancer. Her passing occurred at the Palliative Care Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital. She is survived by her loving family, husband Floyd; daughter Arleigh and stepson Sean. She is also survived by her brother Marlin, wife Karin and niece Erica; mother and father-in-law Harold and Evelyn Moglove; sister-in-law Honey Sue and her husband Joey and nephews, Joel and Alan Markovits and her father Harold. She was preceded by her loving mother. Karen was born in Regina, SK in 1954. She and her family lived in Dysart, SK until she was five when they moved to Regina. After graduating from Grade 12 in Regina, she moved to Winnipeg at the age of 17 where she took Interior Design. Then she became aware that her heart's work was to interact and be involved with children. She entered the day care profession after receiving her degree from Red River. She remained a wonderful and much loved day care worker for over 30 years having the opportunity to touch many young lives. She also took a floral design course in Chicago. Later in life she discovered aerobics and started participating and became an instructor for the City of Winnipeg and a number of community centres. As a young woman, she spent six months in Israel and the experience touched her soul and left her an ardent Zionist. It was her love for her family, her friends and her community that defined the extraordinary woman that she was. She will be truly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Above all, she was a dedicated wife and very loving mother. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring doctors and staff at CancerCare and the nurses on 3B on the Palliative ward of the St. Boniface Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to Ovarian Cancer Canada, 708 - 777 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4J7.
