Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALVIN EDMUND GRUBERT May 30, 1930 - November 27, 2006 While being comforted by family and friends, Alvin Grubert passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on Monday November 27, 2006 at the age of 76 years. Alvin's memory is cherished by his wife Ursula; children, Ralf (Janice), Karin (Dennis), and Debbie (Stan), as well as his grandchildren, Tyler, Chantel, Monica, Eric, Grace, and Ulysses. He is survived by siblings, Meta, Erika, Garry and Lilli as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Alvin's journey began on May 30, 1930 in Schukelen, Lithuania as the first child of Adelaide and Martin Grubert. He grew up in trying times, moving through different D.I.P. camps throughout Europe. However, the struggles of the Second World War served to strengthen the family bond that endured throughout his life. Alvin was a hard worker and a wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed life to the fullest. He made sure to never take anything too seriously and to always find the brighter side of any situation. He will be dearly missed but his memory will never be forgotten. The family would like to thank Kristi, Linda, and Jan as well as Dr. Chung and the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital in 3U5. Cremation has taken place. A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, December 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Ave. West.
