MAN (SOLLY) HARZAN On Saturday, December 2, 2006, Man peacefully passed away to be with his God. He was born in Schirmdorf, Austria on March 16, 1945. In 1955, following his brother Robert who arrived a year earlier, Man settled in Winnipeg with his father, Josef and mother, Edwine and his brothers, Edmund and Herbert. Man was an exceptional athlete, playing high school football which led to the offer of a football scholarship to Notre Dame University. He chose instead to attend the University of Manitoba where his imagination and flair for architectural design flourished. He pursued his talent most notably through Norex Homes and later through his own company, Omega Homes, as a freelance consultant to other major homebuilders. A lasting tribute to his architectural influence is reflected in the numerous homes that form a part of the Winnipeg landscape. His passion for sports and competition evolved into coaching soccer where he and Tigger experienced some wonderful and tumultuous times together. Man loved to laugh and appreciated a good joke - often copying or faxing a cartoon clip to share with someone. Above all, it was Man's faith and his relationship with Abba that defined who he was and sustained him throughout his life. From a young boy, to his theological studies at The Lutheran Seminary as an adult, and thereafter to his death, he was a faithful student of scripture. While he could be uncompromising in his convictions, he was compassionate and generous to a fault. Like the gift of the grape that gladdens the heart, we give thanks to God for the gift of your life. A unique and exceptional person, you will be missed by your family and friends. Burial has taken place at St. Vital Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington St., Winnipeg. If desired, a donation may be made in Man's memory to the ELCIC - Mission in the World, #302 - 393 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3B 3H6. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
