ELLEN SHAW (PORTEOUS) Peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2006, Ellen Shaw passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Ellen was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Arina Latimer; her first husband, Frank Porteous in 1966; her second husband, Bernard Shaw in 1989 and her sister, Margaret McElroy in 2005. Left to grieve are her son, Ken Porteous (Judy); her daughter, Joan Porteous and the light of her life, her granddaughter, Jamie Porteous; her brothers, Milton (Hap) Latimer (Hazel) of Roblin, MB and Ron Latimer (Joyce) of Estevan, SK, plus many nephews and friends. Ellen was born on November 27, 1927 in Durban, MB. In the early 1950s, she moved to Winnipeg to work. She co-operated Porteous Catering with Frank and after his death, ran the business with Bernie Shaw until 1977. After retiring, she was very active in the Adamar Tenants Association. She will be missed by all friends and business associates who came in contact with her. At Ellen's request, a memorial service will be held in the spring for family and friends. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Victoria General Hospital, who looked after Ellen these last few weeks. Their care has been appreciated. Flowers gratefully declined.
