LENNARD DANIEL HILL March 23, 1923 - December 20, 2006 Peacefully on December 20, 2006 at the Grace Hospital, Lennard Daniel Hill passed away at the age of 83. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 60 years, Hazel; daughters, Marilyn (Marty) Schaay of Airdrie, AB, Carol (Gerry) Hawryluk, Barbara and Wendy (Dennis) Knowles of Lindsay, ON. Grandpa will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Mark and Scott Schaay, Grant (Amanda) Hawryluk, Kelly (Brian) Bain, and Dallas and Carson Knowles and great-grandchildren, Kaelin, Garrett and Madison. He is also survived by his sisters, Bessie Brolund of Langley, BC and Evelyn Howe of Burnaby, BC and many nieces and nephews. Dad was born and educated in Swan River, MB, which is also where he started his career with CN Telecommunications in 1941. His career with CNT was interrupted for four and one half years by military service and lasted until his retirement in 1978. He returned to Winnipeg this past summer after residing in Chilliwak, BC since 1980. Dad enjoyed gardening. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Charleswood Masonic Lodge and Shriners. The family extends many thanks to the staff of 3 North at Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. In keeping with Len's wishes there will be no formal funeral service. An interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to charity of your choice.
