Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKEITH CHRISTIAN Keith Christian passed away on December 23, 2006 in Winston-Salem after a brief losing battle to pancreatic cancer. He was born December 10, 1930 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Edward Albert Christian and Eleanor Rene Gatton and subsequently was educated in the Manitoba school system Queen Elizabeth and Norwood Collegiate graduating in 1948 thereafter attending University of Manitoba graduating in 1952 in Mechanical Engineering. His first employment was at the Canadian Westinghouse in Hamilton, Ontario after being trained in train brake by Westinghouse Air Brake Company in Wilmerding, PA. He continued working in Hamilton until 1960 when he took employment with Modernair out of San Leandro, CA. Thus began a career in Fluid Power until his death. He was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Fluid Power Society. His career took him to Cleveland, OH, Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Durham, NC. At that point he returned to Winnipeg for compassionate reasons on his sister's behalf becoming General Manager of Pritchard Engineering. Politics finely forced him to return to the Carolinas and settle in Winston-Salem where he lived the rest his life with wife Dorothea Caroline Hahn. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister, Joan Doreen and is survived by his wife Dorothea and one daughter, Kora Boyles and husband Rocky of Greensboro, NC and beloved pet Labrador Deidre. After cremation, his remains will be interred in the family plot in St. John's in Winnipeg. Since there will be no memorial, any contribution may be made to a local Humane Society of your choice. While in Canada, he was an enthusiastic supporter of curling being a member of the Hamilton Thistle Club and the Winnipeg Granite Club. He felt one of his greatest achievements was the organization of a high school reunion in 1985 keeping in touch with many classmates. He was an avid motorcyclist, riding until the age of 72.
