VERONICA ELISABETH WILKINSON (nee FELLNER) Peacefully, with her family by her side, at Golden Links Personal Care Home, Veronica Wilkinson, age 98, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2007. Veronica was predeceased by her husband Harold on December 26, 1985. She was also predeceased by nine of her 10 siblings. She also leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Joyce (Bill) Henderson, Heather (Wayne) Brennan, and Marilyn (Rob) Marion; her brother Alec Choppie Fellner; grandchildren, Roxanne, Wendy, Blaine, Kerri-leigh, Kimberley, Brenda; great-grandchildren, Curtis, Regan, Trent, Emily, and twins Joel and Kirk and her newborn great-great-grandchild Kaylee. Veronica was born in Balgonie, Saskatchewan and took her training as a psychiatric nurse at Weyburn Mental Institution. She was a fine and dedicated nurse and owned and operated nursing homes in the Winnipeg area with her husband and in-laws. After leaving the administration of nursing homes she worked at two personal care homes. She decided to stay home , and devoted much time to St. Mark's Anglican Church and loved her Elm Park Ladies Bowling League. She had a great love for the nursing profession, and after much consideration, went back to nursing after a ten year hiatus and took a refresher course and worked at the Old Vic until her retirement at age 60. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse and excelled at each of these tasks. She possessed a very strong faith, a great sense of humour and was loved by all who knew her. She loved entertaining friends and family at home and at the lake at both Willow Island and Winnipeg Beach. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Our family would like to thank all the caring and compassionate staff at Golden Links. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Veronica's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
