Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLIGAYA LEGASPI April 5, 1926 - January 2, 2007 Ligaya Legaspi went home to the Lord on January 2, 2007. She was born on April 5, 1926, in Manila, Philippines. She came to Canada in 1984. She was strong, loving, and caring mother to everyone from her son to her youngest great grandchild. Her sincerity also won the hearts of many friends that she had made, especially her best friend Leonor Francisco. Living close to each other they were like sisters. She was always hardworking, cleaning, cooking, but above all that, she loved to watch her favourite shows on TV, go to movies, read the Enquirer, and most of all her daily relationship with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her faith in God made her strong to keep loving and caring for her family to the very end. Survived by her son Eduardo Cuenco (Elisa), grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Eric Cuenco (Anarie, Erica, Eric Jr.), Liza Mapatacc (Chris, Paxton, Marissa, Christian, Marliza), Elma Correa (Larry, Nathan, Aaliyah), Elna Peppler (Chris, Colton, Erin), Rainer Cuenco (Sarah and Wesley) and the Francisco family; nieces and nephews and friends. Ligaya left behind her legacy of love and strength. The Lamay (viewing) service will take place Monday, January 8 at 6:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., and the funeral service will take place Tuesday, January 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Maples Evangelical Church, 1575 Inkster Blvd. Burial and reception to follow at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
