OLGA (OLLIE) SLOBODIAN (nee HRECHKA) Born January 14, 1923 in Sclater, Manitoba, died peacefully in the arms of her daughter Dale, January 6, 2007. Predeceased by her husband Nickolas; daughters, Deanna and Barbara; brothers, John, Steve, Paul, Nick and Bill, and her sister Annie. Ollie is lovingly remembered by her daughter Dale, and son-in-law Tim Langevin; sons, Richard and Jesse Glen Bodyan; grandson Vance Slobodian and many friends and relatives. Ollie married Nick in 1940 in Sclater, later moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba to raise their family. Ollie was a hairdresser and loving mother. In 1981 she and husband Nick moved to Tappen, BC for retirement, where they enjoyed living for many years until finally residing in Abbotsford, BC to be close to family. Along the way, Ollie made many friends and opened her door offering her exceptional baking and cooking to all. She possessed a passion for sewing and proudly showed her love of gardening through her many flourishing flower beds and gardens. Ollie's kindness of heart and generous caring nature was felt by all who knew her and will not soon be forgotten, she will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews as well as her children, friends and remaining relatives. The family would also like to acknowledge and extend sincere gratitude to Dr. Mary Borg and the staff at Zion Park Manor, Cloverdale, BC for their compassion, support and outstanding care.
